Bluestem Heating & Cooling serves the Lawrence, KS area with a focus on trust and care. From your first call through the completion of your service, we’re here to keep your home comfortable. While we are based in Lawrence, our team regularly serves homeowners throughout Northeast Kansas and nearby Kansas City metro communities, including Topeka, Shawnee, Olathe, and Lenexa.

Jason is the foundation under Bluestem Heating & Cooling, involved in every part of the business. He’s hands-on, down to earth, and always willing to step in where he’s needed. Whether the work is in the field or behind the scenes, he believes in showing up fully and never cutting corners.

Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, working on home improvement projects, and gardening. He’s always putting in the extra hours to ensure Bluestem stays reliable, rooted, and ready to serve the homes that depend on it.

Rebecca McAnulla

Owner | Director of Strategy & Creative Communications

Rebecca shapes Bluestem’s visual identity and communications. She oversees communication and operations, including managing the website and social media, creating customer gifts, and embroidering uniforms to ensure everything is clear, consistent, and thoughtfully done.

Outside of work, she enjoys time with her family, watercolor painting, music, and all things creative. She’s rarely far from her dogs, and Bluestem’s mascot, inspired by the family dog Milo, reflects the company’s aim to be every home’s best friend.

Jerry Ward

HVAC Service Technician

Jerry is easy to get along with and brings a steady, practical approach to every service call. He enjoys working with his hands, figuring out how things work, and is always open to learning across all areas of HVAC. Known for his strong problem-solving skills, he’s often the one tinkering with a challenge until it’s solved, even if that means helping answer the occasional office technical question.

Outside of work, Jerry enjoys spending time with his family, playing soccer with his kids, and grilling the perfect steak. He believes in leaving everything in better condition than it was found.

Quinn plays an important role on Bluestem’s installation team and is known for his strong work ethic and attention to detail. He takes pride in doing quality work and helping ensure every installation is completed the right way.

Outside of work, Quinn enjoys spending time with his kids and making the most of time outdoors. You'll often find him at the lake, working in the garden, or enjoying other outdoor activities with his family. His reliability, positive attitude, and dedication to doing the job right make him a valued member of the Bluestem team.

Debbie takes pride in providing strong customer service and helping people feel heard and taken care of. Whether she’s answering questions, coordinating schedules, or supporting the team behind the scenes, she approaches each day with patience, kindness, and a genuine desire to help.

Outside of work, Debbie enjoys staying active playing pickleball with her husband. Her calm presence and steady approach help make each day run a little easier for everyone around her.

Joey plays an important role supporting both installation and service work at Bluestem. He brings focus, reliability, and a strong work ethic to every job, helping ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.

Outside of work, Joey enjoys working on cars and engines and is always curious about how things operate. His eagerness to learn and positive attitude make him a valued part of the field team.

Erick brings more than 16 years of HVAC experience to Bluestem and is known for his friendly personality and commitment to customer service. He enjoys helping homeowners solve problems and takes pride in leaving systems cleaner, more efficient, and running their best. For Erick, a successful day means knowing a customer is happy with the service he provided.

Outside of work, Erick enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, working on projects around the house, and continually working on his bowling game. His positive attitude, attention to detail, and willingness to help make him a valued member of the Bluestem team.

Shop Dog

Baloo is the Bluestem shop dog and keeps the office company during the day. Whether at work or at home with Debbie, you’ll usually find him curled up in his fuzzy bed.
